Our Two Cents: $1.2 Trillion IIJA Infrastructure Bill Summary
by Paul Schmitz, on February 15, 2022
As they say in Washington, "a billion here...a billion there...and pretty soon you're talking real money." On November 5th, 2021 Congress passed the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, or IIJA, and it was signed into law on November 15th. The discussions, deliberations, and debates around federal infrastructure legislation and spending have been extensively reported over the past couple of years, but now that it’s passed, what will it mean for your business?
We're here to help you sort it out. Watch this on-demand webinar hosted by Bryan Gee. He'll provide a summary of what’s included in the IIJA, how we got to where we are today, and the remaining work to be done on Capitol Hill to implement the law. Then we’ll dive deeper into the specifics of the legislation, discussing the major provisions and how they will be implemented in the real world.
Discussion points will include:
- How is the money allocated across all the different priorities?
- How soon will funds start to reach real projects?
- Who controls the distribution of funds?
- What are the processes for deciding which projects get funded?
The law is 2,702 pages long, so we can’t cover everything in half an hour. But we think you’ll find this IIJA summary a useful place to start. Click the button below to watch now.
