2023 Tensar x MRP Webinar Series 3: Fundamental Geotechnical Testing & FEA in Development of Design Methods

A webinar series focused on the development of design methods for unpaved roads and working platforms, with a particular emphasis on the Lees-Han method (LAAMS) for unpaved roads and the T-Value method for working platforms. The design methods are part of a newly developed cloud-based software platform called Tensar+. The methods have been highly empirical, developed based on observed behavior and experience, and involve the addition of geogrids. The presentation also covered the importance of mechanically stabilised layers, the challenges with empirical design methods, and the desire to produce accurate and reliable design methods. The new design method aims for efficient construction of unpaved roads, incorporates mechanical stabilisation, and offers cost, time, and environmental savings.
