  • Ideal for wall and slope applications
  • Most advanced geosynthetic made for soil reinforcement
  • Made from select grades of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins
  • Highly oriented and resist elongation (creep) from high tensile loads
  • Resistant to installation damage and chemical or biological long-term degradation
Overview

Tensar Uniaxial geogrids can carry high tensile loads applied in one direction (along the roll length). Their open aperture structure interlocks with fill material to provide superior load transfer from the soil to the geogrid. Tensar's HDPE geogrids achieve their strength by punching and drawing a homogenous polymer sheet to provide a uniform, consistent product that does not require weaving, coating, or welding to maintain the product's integrity. This unique process provides superior junction strength, allowing high-strength connections to other geogrid rolls or facing components.

SKUs

Uniaxial geogrids come in six SKUs: UX 1100 MSE, UX 1400 MSE, UX 1500 MSE, UX 1600 MSE, UX 1700 MSE, and UX 1800 HS. Download specifications.

Walls & Slopes

Since 1982, Tensar has provided economical solutions for high-strength soil reinforcement in wall and slope applications. We combine our products with innovative technologies and technical services to offer complete engineered systems serving the transportation, industrial, commercial, and residential markets. Over 400 million square feet of retaining wall structures in service today are reinforced with Tensar UX geogrid fabric.

Fabricate & Fill

Uniaxial geogrid rolls can be fabricated to form a marine mattress that is then filled with aggregate. These types of mattresses are commonly used for scour control or other environmental construction.

Degradation Resistant

With soil reinforcement that is 100% polymeric, uniaxial geogrids eliminate corrosion concerns related to either the reinforcing element or the connection of that element to the panel. Tensar UX geogrids have shown no degradation after long-term exposure to pH levels as high as 12, and they can be used in both dry- and wet-cast environments. This makes Uniaxial geogrids the logical choice for aggressive backfill soils.
