Client's Challenge
The contractor encountered soft subgrade soils but was limited to a shallow undercut due to existing underground utilities. Tensar and PS Construction Fabrics representatives performed DCP tests, determined the subgrade CBR to be 0.9%, and designed a solution.
Tensar Solution
Tensar provided a subgrade stabilizing design of 6" of dense graded aggregate placed over a layer of Tensar NX850 geogrid. The design passed proof roll and allowed for the paving of the tennis courts on top without impacting the existing utilities below.
