Overview

Tensar TriAx TX-G products incorporate the advanced technology of the TriAx geogrid, combined with a non-woven geotextile. The two components are factory-bonded, to create a geocomposite structure. As well as the primary function of stabilisation, this process also provides additional separation capability and filtration

The high degree of separation and filtration prevent fine subgrade particles migrating up into the aggregate layer, which would otherwise affect the stabilisation and drainage performance.

SKUs

Tensar TriAx TX-G solutions are available in TX160-G and TX190L-G.

One Size Rarely Fits All

wide range of Tensar TriAx geogrids are available, with different aperture sizes, to ensure complete compatibility between geogrid and aggregate particle size. Compatibility is important, to ensure effective particle interlock and confinement – essential for stabilisation performance. As well as aperture size, geotextiles also vary in properties and performance. Tensar TriAX-G products are available with a selection of options, to suit specific market needs.  Tensar provides guidance on TriAx -G product selection, to ensure the correct geocomposite is specified.

When even the best performing geogrid may not be enough

There are some ground conditions where the optimum solution will be to combine the high-performance stabilising effect of Tensar TriAx geogrid, with the separation function of a geotextile. This could be in areas with high ground water levels or highly mobile subgrade soils, or when using fill material that is not well graded. The Tensar TriAx -G geocomposites is installed geogrid-side-up so it interlocks with the granular fill, positioning the geotextile below, to enhance separation.

Keeping permeable pavements permeable

Sustainable Drainage System (SUDS) pavements typically have a permeable surface, supported on a highly porous aggregate base layer. The porosity of the base is needed to store storm water and transmit it slowly into the drainage system. Maintaining porosity and transmissivity are essential. Stabilisation of the open graded granular base material by using the Tensar TriAx -G product - will increase bearing capacity, and prevent contamination and clogging from the subgrade soil below.
